Tanner MacAlasdair (born January 21, 1985) is an Ulster-Scot professional wrestler, currently operating within the Armbar Error Society. While he has yet to debut, he is set to perform for MallBrawl and ScrapYard, and is participating in the AES Grand Prix, all under the ring name Tanner Morgen.

History

Independent circuit & Grapple Kingdom Pro

MacAlasdair debuted in 2003 under the ring name Tanner Morgen, teaming with his brother "Heavy" Nate Morgen who had been training him since 1999. The two would experience some success as a team in 2005, but were mostly singles competitors during their tenure. In 2007, the team silently split as Nate left for America. Morgen had nominal singles success at this time, becoming the Inverness Strong Style Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion for a short time in June of 2008 following a winning effort against Freddie Louis, but remained low on most promotions' cards and would lose the title the next month in a rematch.

In August of 2011, Morgan opened his own independent wrestling promotion in Plymouth, England known as Grapple Kingdom Pro. At this time, he would experience a major career turnaround, forming a team with fellow indie wrestler Matt Delsin as Youth Explosion. The duo would become the inaugural Grapple Kingdom Pro Tag Team Champions, and would also capture the North Bound British Wrestling Tag Team Championship less than a month from their formation on September 9, 2011 in a winning effort against Vulgar Display of Power (Ace Nelson and Levin Thackeray). They would additionally capture the ISSW Tag Team Championship on January 4, 2012 from The Wanderers (Gregory Quinn and Chris Ahlgren), before dropping the NBBW Tag Team Championship to the same duo 12 days later.

While still holding both the ISSW and GKP tag team championships, Morgen would later betray Delsin in January of 2013, forming a stable with the Uther brothers, Gavin and Mark. He would later reveal that his reason for betraying Delsin was that he felt as though Delsin had disrespected him during their tenure. They would feud for a time with Delsin and his new partner, André Hagan, collectively known as Youth Explosion NEO, for the custody of their championships, in which Morgen and Gavin would secure the ISSW Tag Team Championship on January 23, a mere two days after the split. They would, however, lose custody of the GKP Tag Team Championship on January 28.

This new trio would begin accompanying each other to each of their matches beginning January 30 and would be known as Vassalage, mostly worked together to accomplish singles ambitions during this time, and Morgen found himself slowly morphing into a submissions specialist. In June, however, Mark would leave the stable, while Morgen and Gavin would undergo changes in attitude, becoming accepted by the fans but still mostly working towards their singles ambitions. At this point, they renamed themselves to Armed and Dangerous. On September 22, they would lose the ISSW Tag Team Championship to The Wasteland Survivalists (Danny Oren and Rip Isenberg).

On October 3, 2013, Morgen captured his second singles championship in his career, the GKP Submissions Championship, from Sir Samuel Trowell, which he would hold until May 19, 2014 before losing it to Gavin Uther. Despite facing each other for this championship, the two remained allies.

However, on July 28th, 2014 he would be involved in an accident on his way to what would be the final GKP event, Guns of Summer. He was struck by a car while on the sidewalk after that car was hit by another by a drunk driver. The car landed on his left leg which would shatter his knee, dislocate his ankle and break his shin. Additionally, the impact caused his head to connect hard with the pavement, concussing him. As he was no longer able to wrestle, he couldn't afford to keep running the company, and so GKP closed its doors.

While this injury should have assuredly ended his career, in 2016 he returned to the ring, apparently having once again trained with his brother to get back into ring shape, along with his brother's tag team partner, Teresa Pontarelli. Upon his return, he had fully transitioned into a submissions-based style, however he had become incredibly aggressive in his time out of the ring, looking to cause harm with his submissions rather than simply get the victory. Seemingly in spite of his injury, he would experience significantly more success following his comeback than he had before his injury, winning the ISSW Heavyweight Championship from former stablemate Mark Uther less than a month removed from his return on July 28, 2016, which he would hold until December 9 of the same year before dropping it to Danny Oren.

AES Grand Prix (2017-present)

On February 14th, 2017, Morgen would announce his entry into the Armbar Error Society by becoming an entrant in the first ever AES Grand Prix.

MallBrawl (2017–present)

Morgen signed for Mallbrawl on February 28th, 2017 after having been reportedly present in the crowd for the 4NVR event two days prior.

ScrapYard

Morgen was part of the first wave of signees announced for ScrapYard on April 25, 2017. Following this, he made a statement on twitter in response to questions about it being ScrapYard in particular: "Getting a lot of questions about why I signed for ScrapYard. Didn't come back from a near 2yr layoff to sit on my hands. Any time, anywhere."[1] He would go on to make his AES debut in the first episode, teaming with Dan Brown in the first round of the 4-Squared tournament against the team of Kamara Moore and The Shitty Rookie Nobody Likes, where he would secure the win for his team by pummelling the latter into submission. Due to the tournament format, he is scheduled to face Dan in a singles match on the second episode for a spot in the tournament finals.

Personal Life

MacAlasdair is an Ulster-Scot, his mother being Northern Irish and his father Scottish. His brother, Nathaniel MacAlasdair, known by his ring name "Heavy" Nate Morgen, is also a professional wrestler. While he was born in Scotland, his parents divorced while he was 9 months old, which resulted in his mother moving back to Northern Ireland, taking her sons with her.

MacAlasdair was reportedly in a relationship with fellow professional wrestler, Nina Baxter, in 2008, according to an interview with Baxter during the time at which they were together. The two have since gone their separate ways.

Following a motor-related accident in 2014, MacAlasdair was wheelchair bound for nearly a full year, for the majority of which it was assumed that he would never be able to walk unassisted. In spite of this, he made a near full recovery, albeit with restrictions on his left leg's range of motion.

MacAlasdair is reportedly of short temperament, being somewhat hard to approach, but is supposedly fairly loyal unless he feels disrespected.
