Settling the score with Del Funky
Shortly after AES PrimeTime 4, Maximus suddenly reemerged, sending a letter to the AES Board of Directors stating that he had managed to develop a harmonious relationship with the alien symbiote Xenu and has such had reached his final form. He was taller, more muscular, and more in charge of his in-ring prowess than ever before, and as word started to spread around AES that Maximus was ready to have his final match, a message was broadcast on televisions worldwide. In this message, Maximus stated that he had perfected MAXIMUM STRENGTH STYLE and was coming back to have a match with Dan Hibiki's other student, Del Funky.[4] After an appearance on a late night show to further explain his motivations and how he managed to conquer the alien symbiote and regain his self[5] the match between the two was made.
At the Tokyo Dome, Maximus defeated Del Funky to a sold-out crowd, and in 2016 was inducted into the AES Hall of Fame.
